Is it easy to install a new car radio?
My car is a Nissan Pulsar Vector GL, i think 1988? And I was planning on installing this $168 alpine radio here

A new radio has replaced the stock radio a few years ago so I don’t know if that will make it easier to replace that one? Do i need to watch out for anything and take any precautions? I get the idea that it will just be like replacing a DVD drive in a computer. Unplug wires, and put em back in the same position of the new radio

yes changing a radio is a simple job. It is even easier when there is already an aftermarket radio in the car. To make your installation easier you should buy a new wire harness for your car. A wire harness hooks on to your stock radio wires and gives you new easy wires to connect to your new aftermarket. You can find it here http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12593_Metra+71-1763.html
Here are instructions:
1.Take off your existing radio faceplate
2.With your new radio you should have these metal key (they should look something like this http://www.deals-on-ice.co.uk/shop/images/pc5-109.jpg) slide these in the little slots you see on the left and right side of your radio until they lock in
3. Pull the keys out and your radio will slide right out as well
4. Unplug the existing wire harness from the stock wire harness and the antenna.
5. Plug in new wire harness (or you can cut the existing wire harness wires and just use those, but it takes longer)
6. Take new radio’s wires and connect them either by crimping them together or electrical tape
7. plug the wires and antenna wire in back of the new radio
8. slide new radio in the slot until it clicks in
That is all is needed to install a new radio
