Recommendations for USB GPS in Australia?
I was looking into a USB or Expresscard GPS receiver to use on my Dell XPS Laptop in Australia. It is as easy as plugging the receiver into the computer and getting your location? What software needs to be used? What is the best receiver brand and pricewise?
USB GPS receivers are very inexpensive these days. A popular, and a very good, one is GlobalSat BU-353. It costs at many online stores only about US $35.
A USB GPS receiver works all around the world. It is not limited to working only in certain countries. A USB GPS receiver gives to your laptop only your location information. It is then up to your GPS navigation software to display the map for your area, and to show you your location on the map, etc.
