Do in-car GPS units take speed limits into account when route planning?
I just wonder this, as sometimes mine sends me down roads with more traffic lights or lower speed limits, despite being set to “fastest” planning mode.
I think they do – at least my TomTom seemed to do that. Remember that in a lot of cases there simply aren’t that many alternate routes, so you’ll end up on the same road no matter what kind of mode you select.
