Why does Apple/ATT brag about 3g on the iphone when there is no 3g coverage?
By no means am I knocking the phone. I’m going to buy one the day I’m through serving my prison sentence with sprint.
But…
I was looking at the 3g coverage area for the iphone, and realized it was near non-existent. Look for yourself. Here’s the map. You need to check the box that says 3g.

Ok, so we traded the cool aluminum casing for cheap plastic. The monthly fees went up $10.00 per month. And the 3g is next to nil. What’s so much better about the 3g iphone than its predecessor other than GPS?

The bandwidth is greater- but you have to be in the 3g coverage zone. Which is what I’m disappointed about. Bandwidth is exactly the same as the original when the phone is outside the 3g zone.
The bandwidth is much greater. You can get download speeds of up to a couple Mbs, which is a great deal faster.
