How to delete default maps on gps garmin etrex vista cx?

I live in okinawa japan and just bought the etrex vista cx and it came with the map: Americas Marine Point Basemap,Jan 2001
I want to get rid of it because okinawa isn’t on it, then i want to add the okinawa map on it
How do i Do it??

You cannot delete the base map and don’t need to.

You may have noticed that the base map is very minimal and not all that useful.
When you buy a new map set for the etrex that gives the detail you need, it will cover up the base map in the areas that the new map includes and let the base map show up where your new map doesn’t have information.

Check around for a map set that includes Okinawa on it. I assume that it will be a map of Japan or Asia.
