Garmin Nuvi 265W/265WT Reviews
I have owned several GPS units, including all phone, laptop and dedicated. Flat Before I start the Garmin Nuvi 265WT is the best I’ve ever owned. Let a few key features of the post.
Touch screen interface
Very intuitive and easy to use. Touch screen is sensitive, but not immediate. What I especially like the ability to switch to a top down view by tapping the screen. Once done you can use your finger to drag the map to zoom at any time point. Once done you can hit the back button and go to the 3D view.
Turn on the
There are two possibilities. You can use a Text to Speech voices, or a natural voice. The text of the speech voice to give you more information, such as street names. That’s what I use, and even if you can say that this is a computer-generated sound quality is excellent. The 265WT is not a good job to keep you updated. At any time you can hit the turn indicator, and tell the distance to next turn, so that street names and directions. The sound is loud and noisy enough to be my little Scion I have no problem hearing the messages.
Maps
I found the map accuracy is good enough. I live in North virgin and it appears that a number of very very good update of new streets as well.
Automatic routing
Very effective. You can choose the quickest or shortest way to avoid u-turns, highways, Toll roads, Traffic, Ferries. The automatic rerouting is faster than the TeleNav on your phone and a laptop computer.
Points of Interest
TeleNav GPS on your phone system can join the business in the national database, and I know the instructions, addresses and telephone numbers. This is the point where the 265WT below. The TeleNav system offers the advantage of online search. Since the 265WT has a built-in memory is limited to limit the number of points of interest. A good example is looking for ‘Off Broadway Shoes’ and the device can not find them. However, the search for ‘Payless Shoes’ worked very well.
Traffic Alerts
It happened to be flows at a price. You get the population increases. These are very small pop-up that can only be claimed when the menu. This is not true. I am also struck, while the navigation screen. It now seems that once a road, but nothing they say to start by becoming more frequent. The other thing I do not like the message that you have the faith to pursue and bring it to the Nav screen is a kind of screen favorites. You have to hit the back button to get back to the navigation screen.
How well does the transport system work. I live in Northern VA and coverage of the whole of my property. The radio is not present to pick up a signal without using an external antenna. Unfortunately, you just go out and purchase an FM antenna .. Power Cable 3 / 32 ‘jack. What I did was to pick up the 3 / 32 ‘plug Radio Shack and soldered to the 4′ wire to the Board of the pin connector. Once spread it out a window I get very frequent traffic updates.
Once you start getting traffic reports, I found them to be exact and they are helping. You can automatically avoid the big turnover arias, or do it manually, because they belong to.
I’m still debating if it adds to the general public was well worth the effort.
Bluetooth integration
This is my favorite feature. We also keep locked Motorola Q keyboard pocket of my trousers, and use the 265WT make and receive calls with my touch of a button. My phone features are available on the 265WT. Phonebook, call history, voice recognition. The sound quality is quite acceptable on both ends. Indeed, as the echo is not there when I get my Motorola to the 265WT is a hands-free kit.
I found that this is a very useless feature. If the pictures are very high-265WT takes forever to load them. This may be due to the slow access to the SD card slot.
There are other features, such as the ability to connect your computer to the 265WT, and automatically added to your favorite locations using GoogleMaps. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase and will buy again.
FYI the Nuvi 265WT Nuvi 255W in the same unit without the ability of Bluetooth and FM cable relief (GTM 25). You can also buy the Garmin GTM 25. If you do not want the Bluetooth feature, and should not be based on traffic in the Nuvi 255W is cheaper.
