uses of gps in aviation?
what are the types of gps systems that are used in aviation precision approach etc. any good sources i can get more info on the subject?
For GPS to be used in PRECISION approaches it has to be WAAS (wide area augementation system) enabled to increase the accuracy and has to have a reporting system to know that correction is working.
There are several manufacturers of approved units.

add – Units like the GNS530W and 430W are indeed approved for LPV approaches check Garmins site.
