Flight Simulator 2004 Autopilot?
When flying from say manchester to New York i set up in flight planner i.e IFR-High altitude airways etc etc the click create route. When in flight is it possible that when a command to go to a different heading, the plane will do it without my input – i.e i can leave it for a while and come back – I have the autopilot on and all the buttons set, is it something to do with the F/D switch near the auto arm throttle or GPS mode instead of NAV etc!
OK, say your plane is a B744 (B747-400), or a B773 (B777-300). The thing is…I don’t use those planes, as I do European flights! But I DO use Auto-pilot, but from my knowledge of the typical airliner that does routes…UK to Spain, does not have that function! I have flown long-haul aircraft and I am sure that there is not that function! Now your question is leading onto another…If there was an aircraft with that ability, and you are using ATC, then whilst you are away, who, or what will answer the radio call from ATC?
So unfortunately, you will have to just simply keep checking it, or just not use ATC! Your choice…
