Gps Celestron
Celestron CPC 1100 GPS, what do you think of it?
I’m thinking of buying the Celestron CPC 1100 GPS scope. I’m thinking this because ease of use and able to transport somewhat easily. Has anyone had any personal use and experience with this scope? What is your opinion as far as manufacturers? Is Celestron better than Meade, Orion, etc?
Thanks.
When making your choice look at the total weight and length too. You are the one that has to pack the scope around so make sure that you can eastily lift it for many years in the future. Dont take it to the limit now if you are, ummm, riding off into the sunset of life so to speak. Also think about your vehicle and will it fit in it and think about the length meaning can you reach all the knobs and buttons. Most people dont think about those things and if you cant get the scope out in the field easily, it will discourage you from going out at all.
The 1100 GPS is a very nice scope and you should be happy with it, but on any of those Celestron mounts, you need to double check the locks on the legs everytime you use them. I have a friend that had a leg lock fail and he lost his scope to asphalt that way.
