My wife and I are doing a road trip Chicago-Vancouver/mid-Aug/08yaris/10days. Tips needed!ANY TIPS,THANKS!?
We are thinking of Mt Rushmore and Yellowstone monuments in between.
We are driving a 2008 Toyota Yaris with GPS navigation and are moving to Vancouver for good, hence we have about 200LB of personal belongings as well.
We want:-
1. General tips about the travel. We are Indian nationals, and have never done anything like this, the most we have done is from Chicago to downstate IL! We can drive about 400-450mi/day[max]
2. We have a budget of about $1500. Tips about inexpensive accommodation, and anything that could cut costs.
Any kind of tips would be highly appreciated! Thanks!
hi, we recently did South Carolina to Calgary Alberta (going through Chicago) It was pretty expensive, but to cut costs go to grocery store at each city you stop and get groceries for sandwiches, sodas etc.. and keep a cooler in the car. your gps should have lists of hotels near where you get sleepy, so that’s what we did. usually they are all together so you can ask for their prices.. Typically it is around $80-$120 for a decent hotel. If you do the grocery thing and skip the fast food, you’ll really save yourself some cash. best of luck and enjoy it, its a once in a lifetime trip!
