Gps Etrex Legend Garmin
I have recently purchased a Garmin eTrex Legend, how do I hook it up to my computer?
PC interface cable came with the GPS. I dont know where this cord goes to in my comptuer.
I have a Dell Dimension 8110 computer. If that is any help.
If this is the blue eTrex Legend, it uses a serial cable. It is quite possible that your Dell does not have a serial port, especially if it is a newer computer. First check the back of your computer to see if it has a serial port. Look for a picture of one online if you don’t know what it looks like. Or just look for a port that looks like it would fit with you serial cable. If you do not have a serial port, you will need to purchase a serial-to-USB adapter cable. Do not buy the one from Garmin, as it is grossly overpriced. Expect to pay around $10 for a 6ft cable.
