Gps Europe Maps Preloaded
Good portable GPS? International (Europe) + Wifi?
Hello all, I am currently looking for a portable GPS Device that is preloaded with US + Europe maps (or more) and that is wifi compatible. Pretty broad guidelines, not familiar with GPS at all, and hopefully one for a reasonable price, nothing over the top. Just a basic portable GPS for US/Europe.

I don’t know any GPS units that have wifi, nor do I know how that might work or what you have in mind with this requirement. GPS has no relationship or connectivity to the internet at all. Wifi is only going to work when you are at home or in someplace with free wifi and certainly when you are on the road or walking with a GPS, wifi is going to be more or less useless. So again, your “requirement” for this is not at all clear.
My Tomtom 910, which is not sold any more, has both European and US maps on it (now), but I had to buy the European one. It did not come preloaded. I honestly can not say that I have ever seen another GPS which lets me have both US and European maps loaded at the same time. It isn’t all that expensive to buy another map… maybe 60 to 90 dollars.
Also, I’m not sure when you say “portable” if you mean something hand held or you mean something primarily for a car, such as the 910.
It might be that something like an iPhone might work best for you. I think they might be usable in Europe and they obviously have navigation apps and work with the internet.
