Question About GPS Portable Garmin?

I’m getting a GPS, and its between the Garmin 1300LM and the Garmin 1300LMT the only difference is lifetime traffic updates. What exactly is lifetime traffic updates and is it important if I already have lifetime map updates on both?

If you are in an urban area, you will likely want traffic, and it is economically better to have it “lifetime” probably.
