Can i use my alltel htc PPC 6800 as a gps device? if so do i need to buy hardware for it?
ive read it has an internal gps yet they sell external, is there any way i can do this with free software that youd recommend.
yes, you need an extenal bluetooth gps receiver, as of right now. i have heard the htc is releasing a patch to enable the gps that is internal. as of right now the internal gps is only used for 911 purposes. there are hacks out there that will enable it though. check out phonenews.com they have a good hack to do it, although it’s complicated. if you are a basic user don’t worry about it, but if you are pretty experienced, check it out.
