Gps Ifr Approach
cirrus airplane question?
i want to buy cirrus sr22? is hard to fly compared to pa-32 airplane? does pfd fail alot? does synthetic vision it has? does ifr gps approved for approaches? are the engine good to reach tbo? Are engine have fadec? do fiberglass have life limit?
Yes, you want to buy a Cirrus SR-22. Yesterday you wanted to buy a Bonanza. But here we go…
The PA-32 aka Cherokee Six is an older airplane. The Cirrus is built better. It’s probably easier to fly; it’s certainly no harder.
MTBF on the electronic displays is longer than steam gauges. Everybody worries about the new glass displays, but we all have stories of instrumentation failure from before glass.
The GPS in the Cirrus SR-22 is approved for approaches but you’re wise to check the logs and verify it.
Whether or not the engine reaches TBO depends on how you treat it. Push it hard and it will probably need a top overhaul before TBO. Watch the temps.
Don’t know about fadec — I think it does.
Don’t know about life-limit on the fiberglass. Wouldn’t surprise me if it had one. It’s unlikely you’ll encounter it, though.
