Buy online and send to Jamaica?
I can’t be in Jamaica, W.I. until this Easter and I don’t want to send a phone overseas from Norway.
Is there an online store on the island or USA mainland who want to send a phone to Jamaica please?
I’m looking for a high end Nokia E- or N-series or perhaps the Samsung Soul. Something with an instant wow-factor and good looks. GPS is not a factor for the island, it’s easy to get around. But I love music.
My vendor (komplett dot no) is happy to send unlocked phones by mail but I need to find a similar webshop if any over there. Or better get one at the airport when I’m going there.
I’ve never heard of a phone being sent to JA that way, but i would not say its impossible. Bear in mind that if the phone is shipped to JA it will pass through local customs and the charges are going to be ridiculous! you can pay up to 100% of the cost of the phone in customs duties. My suggestion is that you have someone physically take the phone to JA preferably out of the original packaging. Their luggage may be subject to search at the customs check point.
There are three major cell phone providers in JA Digicel, LIME and Claro. They do have some good phones but may not have the ones you want.
