BMW M3 Security Questions?
So im in the market for a 2005 BMW M3 but im curious about its security. ive been reading through out the forums that the cars alarm is only a option. im confused at this point. ive also been reading that the key has some sort of chip that works as some sort of GPS theft finder if the car were to be stolen. im not really that tech savvy or have ever owned a BMW before in the past so if someone could fill me in on what i would need to know i would really appreciate it. thanks in advance looking forward to your answers.
the alarm is a dealer installed item. and is pretty good in my opinion. you dont hear of too many bmws getting stolen in the first place, because you have to have the key to start it. if your key is stolen thats different. as far as the key is concerned there is no gps tracker in the key unless they started installing them today. the key contains a rolling code the the anti theft must see to enable the starter. the 2005 m3 is a great car. the only gps type thing in the car is for the sos feature which a call has to be placed from the car and cannot be activated remotely.
