Gps Lifetime Map Update
Question About ‘Lifetime Traffic and Maps’ on GPS’s?
I’ll start off by saying that I know nothing about GPS’s so please forgive me if this is a really dumb question. After reading some reviews on Portable Vehicle GPS’s, it says that updates can cost as much as $70 per update. I found a TomTom GPS that has Lifetime Traffic and Maps – does that mean that I will never have to pay to update my GPS?
If it helps…I’m looking at the TomTom XXL 540TM (Lifetime Traffic and Maps Edition).
Are there any other “Hidden” costs with GPS’s?
It seems to me, you will get both, fo no extra costs (other than your Internet bandwidth, to download the update). Traffic will be there as long as there is a traffic service.
Check your local laws WRT to using one in your car. It may be illegal to have it mounted in certain locations (such as the windshield), and/or to operate the GPS while operating the vehicle.
