Gps Lifetime Maps Bluetooth
How does the GPS tomtom XL 340TM 4.3 compare to?
TomTom XXL 550M 5.0 and the Garmin Nuvi 255? I don’t need bluetooth. Just want something that is easy to use and will get me from point A to point B. How do I know if they have lifetime free maps or will I have to purchase new maps? How does the advanced lane change feature work?

Both are excellent devices.Generally speaking, both Tomtom and Garmin offer great coverage, and their maps will cover most popular areas. Garmin uses the Nokia-owned Navteq maps which many claim offer routing algorithms which are streets ahead of TomTom.They claim the POI system used in most Garmin devices is more user-friendly than the Tomtom system. Many find that Navteq has slightly better coverage in the US.
TomTom uses TeleAtlas which, it is proposed, provides a better user interface and friendliness for things such as setting alternative routes.Tele Atlas has better European coverage.
So in your scenario…
check to make sure your location is covered well by either provider.Asking yourself Where you drive (town or rural areas or both) and if you intend to travel?
Then compare the 2 units based on your budget, features you need, and use reviews of each system to make your final decision.
