Gps Microchip For Dogs Shelters

question about microchipping dogs?

My sister’s boyfriend told me his vet microchipped his puppy–not with the standard chip, but with a chip that has GPS capability. For instance, if his dog gets lost, they can “track” it and find it. Has anyone else heard of this? The only microchips I know are the ones that have to be scanned by shelters, vets, etc.

Yes, I’ve heard of it and it’s expensive. It’ll be good if you’re always travelling or on the road or camp alot. I have a pitbull and a yorkie and they just have regular microchips.
