should I upgrade to a smart phone like driod 2 to down load hunting map apps..blm gps maps…I heard theres a app. that has a range finder…or should I go with the old school garmin..thanks yahoo.ers…. hunting hogs…deer…elk
I’d go with the Garmin HC. I love mine.It brought hunting to a whole new level. The GPS is the single most important invention in the world of hunting that has ever been invented.Go anywhere and come back. Dark? No problem. Went in circles following that blood trail after dark? No problem. Don’t know where the road you parked on is? No problem. Found great deer sign when you were looking for your wounded deer? Key the spots in and hunt them later.
The battery lasts for about 19 hours of constant use. Would your cell phone do that? Buy your phone if you wish, but take the GPS when you go hunting.
