Gps Picture Tracker
Need help selecting a GPS photo tracker that will work with most any camera?
I am looking to buy a reasonably priced GPS photo tracker which will work with most cameras. The ATP Photo Finder that I found on the internet does what I need it to, but I am discouraged by some negative feedback and reviews.
I want to take pictures and ultimately and view them on google earth at my desktop using picasa as the intermediate step.
Please provide specific direction to specific products and reviews. Most of the info I find on the internet is very old.

My strategy has been to carry a standalone GPS receiver (I use the same Garmin unit that I most often use for car navigation), sync the camera clock to the GPS receiver time, then sync the GPS log to the photos using any number of available free utilities to do this later on. Then, no worries about camera compatibility. The downside? Battery.
Note that the Eye-Fi cards are not truly GPS – they get location by the locations of nearby Wi-Fi networks. If the locations of these are accurate, your location should be pretty close. If there’s no Wi-Fi around, you’ll have no location.
