would a GPS system be good for me to buy?

because im 17 yrs old and i get lost easily while driving in areas i am unfamiliar with. especially when i meet new friends and they give me directions to their house i get lost lol….

but my main concern is getting use to the GPS system. like are they pretty self explanatory? like can i just type in an address and it will direct me their effectively? like it is impossible to get lost with them? lol. whoever that can answer all my questions good i will vote best answer.

I just bought one and it works great.

In talk mode, it tell you what to do, what lane to be in, what direction to turn and it also instantly re calibrates if you make a wrong turn.

You just have to have the address to be able to use the one I bought (about $100.00 US).

Warning….be careful about driving and watching the GPS screen, that could lead to an accident. Glancing at it while maintaining focus on the road is the best policy. If the directions the voice tell you are confusing, pull off the road and look at it with more detail.

The one I bought gets me within about 100 feet of the final destination. I haven’t been able to figure out why it is a little off but I don’t care. It has been flawless in its direction giving so far.

One thing that someone told me is that they will not be accurate for newly developed areas in a couple of years as the map that is loaded needs to be updated by some method. If the one you buy cannot be updated, then it will be accurate only for roads in existance when you bought it.
