How to get GPS on my jacket?
For a marketing project, I’m marketing a jacket that has a small touch screen on the sleeve that controls mp3/phone & you can put pictures on it, etc. One main feature I want is that it can have GPS that you don’t need internet for (so you can use it while traveling). Problem is, my friend said it’s tricky to use satellite signals because you need permission and have to pay $$. Not a huge problem because it’s just a project (it would just make the jacket cost more).. but how do I find out how much the cost is? Thanks.
You can do it yourself, a prototype, using a Motorola SiRF Star3 GPS engine, that has a TTL output to a small Heads Up display.
I would recommend that you contact Garmin. They are repective of ideas, unlike the other GPS receiver makers, Garmin is very innovative.
