Gps Upgrade
is there any way to “upgrade” my GPS?
I have a Garmin Nuvi 205 and want to either upgrade the firmware or if possible (i doubt it) hack it to TomTom firmware. Is this possible?
It is probably fruitless to try to run TomTom software on it. It at least will not have the DRM needed to access TomTom maps. Bottom line, if you want TomTom, go buy a TomTom GPS.
You can upgrade the firmware to what the manufacturer offers, if they have a new version.
Maps are another subject. You need to buy them generally.
If it has Windows CE5.0, there may be hacks to put a desktop on it, to use it more as a general purpose PDA.
