Magellan Gps Updates
Which portable GPS do you prefer? Garmin, MAGELLAN, TomTom or others?
I currently have a tomtom 300 I don’t really like it because it’s not compatible with my phone and I can’t get the traffic. Also there still some streets that don’t show up. I am looking for a GPS system that will be compatible with my phone and have better feature and I am able to download new streets also even when I first got it didn’t have new streets I when into the TomTom website and downloaded updates but they where feature updates nothing about new streets updates
witch one has free update such as new roads,streets,highways..do any of them updated on they’re own
If you’re in the U.S. Garmin is the better choice. If in Europe, TomTom is better. Go to the manufacturer’s web site to check on phone compatibility. Go to http://gps.buyerreports.org for other owners’ reviews and specs.
Most GPS makers use the same map data, from Navteq, so if you can’t find certain streets on one, you may not find on another. TomTom, I believe, uses TeleAtlas, and so you might find streets on Garmin that you don’t find on TomTom. A good way to check is to try to find your streets on MapQuest because they use Navteq, like Garmin. Be aware, however, that the map data on Mapquest might be a little more up to date than that provided with any GPS you might buy.
