Can an enlisted guy become a marine officer pt 2.?
As i said before if i enlist into the marines and start taking classes while im in is there a way where i can become an officer like that? or is it possible to enlist take some classes and get your B.A. then go to OCS? whats the smartes route? i dont really have the grades to get into a 4 year university, my GPS is 2.88 i did wrestling and football. but thats still not enough for college
There are plenty of public and private four year colleges and universities a guy can gain admission to with a 2.88 GPA. For instance, if you are a California resident with a 2.88 GPA in A-G courses taken in 10th and 11th grade, then to meet the eligibility requirements of the non competitive campuses in the CSU system which includes about 75% of the 20+ CSU campuses( but not every major on non selective campuses) you would need an SAT CR + Math of 596 out of a possible 1600.

You can go to your states universities and look for similar information on the admissions page or ask one of the college admission’s counselors at your high school. If your state is part of a regional consortium like WUE you can also go to participating public universities in nearby states paying tuition that is either the same as state residents or 150% of state resident tuition.
The Marines #1 source of commissioned officers is the Plc, which a guy can join after one successful semester at an accredited college, including a community college, if he meets the requirements and convinces an OSO he is Marine Officer Material. As with all Marine Officer Programs a guy must have a first class PFT, 225+ to submit an application and 240+ for an application to be submitted to a selection board.

As far as enlisting to eventually become a Marine officer; only about 1% of guys who enlist in the Marines ever become a Marine officer.
