Motorcycle Gps Zumo 550
GPS, Blue tooth?
I am looking at buying a GPS (girmin – zumo 550). Its design for motorcycles. The question is: I want to be able to talk to my pasensger, both of us to be able to listen to the mp3 , hear the directions from the GPS, and be able to talk on the cell phone. I would like this in stero if possible. How do I make this work? Do I need to purchase a new helmet, cell phone, and a blue tooth devise? If you hqave product info that would be great.
Sure – lots of sport-tourers are doing all this these days. I have considered it, but with all the wired versions, it looks like a PIA. Fortunately the new Bluetooth capability resolves much of that. If you get the right set up, the stereo fades out when the cell phone or GPS kicks in.
There are good single options available to connect all these devices. I suggest getting an Autocom unit. They all interface with it. Nolan is now making a Bluetooth helmet, and they are great quality products. Marsee also makes some tanks bags to hook it all up inside. Brace yourself, it can get pricey if you want to do it right!
Just don’t try to use them all at once!!
