Portable Gps Devices Garmin
I want a GPS for my trip to Europe. Will it be any use to me after I return my rental car? How do I charge it?
I want a portable device that will go in the car when I get home. However when I am in Europe I want to use it when walking in cities. Does this make sense? If so, would the Garmin Nuvi 255w be a reasonable choice.
Pretty much any Nüvi would do what you want – it’s largely a tradeoff of ‘bells and whistles’ vs. price.
Assuming that ‘home’ is North America (it often is when people consider it’s unnecessary to say 8^( ) – do be aware that you will probably have to buy extra maps for Europe, or get one of the ‘dual’ models, such as the 275W. If you got a Europe map card – you may be able to on-sell it, or possibly get a used one now on Ebay. I think you need a charger like https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=11190 to charge it if you don’t have a car. I’m pretty sure they don’t charge through USB.
