What sub £500 keyboard should I buy?
I will buy second hand but want loads of effects, sampling and a link to a pc? I’ve looked at the Triton Extreme but can’t justify the cost at the moment.
Having had about 5 different keyboards over the years, I recently
bought a Casio LK 210. It has plenty of voices and rhythms,
with a 3-stage tutorial for the first-time players to the more advanced. When using the inbuilt tunes, the keys light up, and
the backing plays along at the speed you are playing – great for
learning.
It can be connected to a PC, and has a slot for a 1gig card, along
with a socket for a microphone. It accepts Midi downloads.
I prefer the Casio sounds to Yamaha. With stand, I paid
just under £200 in the high street, though I later found one
£50 cheaper on line, including shipping.
You should always try to hear a keyboard when paying decent money, but this model, or it’s cheaper brother, comes highly recommended.
