Verizon Gps Tracking System
If turn the gps off on a verizon smartphone can I still be tracked by my employer?
I understand even on basic phones you can triangulate the location of an individual via cell phone towers but from what I understand only law enforcement can do that. My office is requiring that i upgrade to a smart phone from Verizon. The office is based out in Chicago but I am contracted by them to do work in the East Coast. I don’t want them to know where I am at all times. I am familiar on the android system you can turn the gps off but is there anyway that the account holder (the office) can get a hold of my location?
Unfortunately if they own the phone, and there on business plans there are ways to enable the tracking features in ways you can’t disable it, (without specialized software) BUT most don’t do it that way and can be disable on the phone itself. You are correct only the carrier and the police (with warrant) can triangulate you. (with the exception of a 911 call).
